Wyland Experience
Laguna Beach California, September 2025
I was gifted with the most wonderful trip, with a friend of mine, Dave Lecroix.  He introduced me to the most wonderful artist and conservationist in the world,
Wyland.  During this trip, I was able to interact , paint with him and learn important techniques.  I also learned how we can all contribute and preserve our beautiful ocean, one brush stroke at a time.

What is Seaglass?

Genuine Seaglass Jewelry

All my seaglass jewelry (necklaces, bracelets, earrings) are made by hand and authentic.  They are tumbled in the ocean, broken by nature and polished by the sand on the beach.

SEA GLASS VS. BEACH GLASS

You might’ve heard the term beach glass and wondered if it’s the same thing as sea glass. The short answer is no, the two are not the same. Sea glass is found on saltwater beaches, whereas beach glass is on freshwater or seawater beaches. Sometimes, it can be found on a lake.

The main difference between sea glass and beach glass is the appearance. Because the water isn’t as rough (especially on a lake), beach glass won’t get as much tumbling and tossing. This may lead to glass with a less frosted appearance and some shiny spots still on it.

How Does Glass Become Seaglass

Most sea glass takes 20-50 years to acquire its individual shape and frosted surface, but some tumble for up to 100 years before being permanently beached. Some pieces may be washed ashore after only about 10 years of tumbling in a constant surf environment.

A quality piece of sea glass will be completely smooth, with no shiny spots. The longer the glass has been tumbled, the greater the chance it will be completely transformed into a jewelry-quality piece. The physical and chemical weathering required takes time, and there’s just no substitute for it.

“I’ve admired all of Andree’s ocean inspired art for some time. Several years ago I purchased one of her oil paintings to hang in my spa bathroom. It provides the perfect relaxation vibe in shades of the sea that make me smile everyday. Art that touches my soul!”

Carol from Indiana

"I absolutely love my purchase. It came in a beautiful box with little broken shells in the box which added to the presentation. The earrings were beautiful and was exactly like the picture. The shipping was quick and the personalized thank you note was a nice touch. I will be looking into her other items. This artist seems to want her buyers to be pleased with her designs which I definitely did. The little extras she provided was much appreciated."

MJ Gavin

"It’s absolutely spectacular! Memories of walking the beaches with my sister makes this painting extra special! I love it because it captured the essence of our love for each other and the special moments we share that define “us”."

Michelle, Canada

We LOVE our fabric art!

Sandra

Thank you!
You are such a talented artist and I know my mom loves this piece of art you made!  She will cherish it.

Jesse

"Emma Rose received her necklace and was thrilled.  Her mother cried, that very weekend she wore the necklace and bracelet to the dance Tim Tebow funded for the Down Syndrome Group and it matched her dress.  Truly, it could not have worked our better. Thank you"
